The TZ300 is the travel-zoom for photographers who've been burned by phone cameras on trips — that 1-inch sensor will actually hold up in dim restaurant light where your last compact failed you, and 360mm equivalent reach means wildlife and architecture in the same pocket camera. At €999 it's priced against Sony's RX100 VII, so the real question is whether Panasonic's stabilisation edge justifies skipping Sony's faster autofocus.
