The a7R VI arriving with a fast stacked sensor and 30fps doesn't kill the a1 II. It just means Sony built a resolution tool that's also quick, not a sports and wildlife workhorse that also resolves well. The a1 II still owns auttracking depth, buffer under sustained load, and the workflow assumptions of photographers who need all of that reliably. If your clients need wall-sized files and your shoots are controlled enough to use them, the a7R VI just got a lot more interesting. If you're tracking unpredictable subjects under pressure, the a1 II isn't obsolete. It's still the right tool.
