Most photographers ignore their storage until something dies. The DS1825+ is the upgrade path if you're running an older Synology 8-bay and watching your drives fill up faster than your invoices clear. Eight bays means room to grow without migrating to a new unit, and Synology's software ecosystem is genuinely the reason to stay in their lane over rolling your own. Not urgent if your current setup works. Very relevant if it doesn't.
