Levon Biss and two other macro photographers each walk through one image — the decisions made, the technique used, and the context behind it. Biss's entry is a focus-stacked portrait of a Blue Calamintha Bee built from over 10,000 frames using microscope objectives on a custom rig, final print at 3x2m for a touring show. The specimen, on loan from the American Museum of Natural History, still had pollen attached — rare enough that the shoot required an unusually careful handling approach throughout.
