Beijing has enacted a citywide ban on both drone operation and retail sales — not a no-fly zone expansion but a full prohibition across the capital. In Washington, a Congressional bill would give videographers a direct legal cause of action against federal officers who obstruct them from recording police activity. On the industry side, an activist fund has overtaken Sony to become Tamron's largest shareholder, a structural shift in who holds sway over the Japanese lens maker.
