Japan's used camera market keeps throwing up surprises, and whoever expected a legacy DSLR to top the charts in 2025 wasn't paying attention to how photographers actually shop. The Minna Camera data is a useful gut-check: mirrorless dominates the new-gear conversation, but on the second-hand market, proven workhorses with deep lens ecosystems and cheap body prices still move fast. If you're building a backup kit or getting someone into shooting without a five-grand outlay, this is the market telling you something.
