Jeff Schewe, Photographer and Digital Pioneer, Has Died

Jeff Schewe has died. Luminous Landscape broke the news, describing him as someone who left the photography world transformed. Schewe was a commercial photographer based in Chicago, but his reach went well beyond his own client work. He co-authored 'The Digital Negative' and 'The Digital Print' with Bruce Fraser, books that became genuine references for photographers navigating raw processing and print output in the early digital era. He was part of the inner circle at Adobe during the development of Camera Raw and Lightroom, and his fingerprints are on tools working photographers still use every day. A real one.
