Alessio Mamo's long-term documentary project The Hospital of All the Wars follows patients at the MSF Al-Mowasah hospital in Amman, Jordan. This image — a 12-year-old Iraqi girl, Manal, recovering from severe burns sustained in a missile explosion — is the work of a photographer who shifted from aesthetics to social documentary after covering the 2013 Lampedusa shipwreck. The project was built over six months in Jordan alongside journalist Marta Bellingreri.
