ARRI has launched the ALEXA 35 Live Xtreme, a broadcast variant of the ALEXA 35 that gets you up to 480fps slow-motion replays and a simultaneous live program feed from the one camera, over a standard SDI chain. Ships with permanent licenses for 8x HFR in HD and 2x in UHD baked in, so no extra software cost to unlock the headline specs. Up to 4x HFR runs over a single SDI connector; higher speeds split across both outputs, keeping everything inside SMPTE conventions that broadcast engineers already work with. The 480fps top speed kicks in via Sensor Overdrive and drops dynamic range from 17 stops to 11, the same trade-off as the cine-side ALEXA 35 Xtreme. Post-2026 ALEXA 35 Live owners can add Xtreme functionality by purchasing the High Speed and HFR SDI Licenses from the ARRI shop; pre-2026 bodies need a hardware upgrade through an ARRI service centre. Available to order now, no pricing published.
