Artlist Sold a Year of Unlimited AI Video, Pulled It in a Week

Artlist sold an annual AI Creator subscription for $499.99 with the pitch that subscribers got unlimited Seedance 2.5 generations for a full year. Within a week the model was gone from every plan, and affected users were offered a credit bump that customers calculate as worth about 12 thirty-second clips per month, against the 85-per-day the promotional terms had advertised. CineD ran the numbers on public reseller pricing for Seedance 2.5 (around $0.47 per second of 720p) and found a single heavy user could burn through the annual subscription cost in a day of normal use, which explains why this lasted a week and not a year. Refunds were made opt-in, restricted to purchases between August 7 and 10, and many users report being stonewalled into chargebacks. The fine print, which was live before the campaign launched, already let Artlist pull any model at any time with no obligation. CineD's recommendation is blunt: don't prepay Artlist for an annual AI plan. Worth reading before you sign up for anything annual with a platform selling access to third-party models they don't control.
