Avid Media Composer 2026.8: Free Tier Uncapped, Multicam Auto Cut

Avid Media Composer 2026.8 removes track and resolution caps from its free tier, adds a multicam auto-cut feature that builds a first-pass edit from transcript speaker data, and shifts third-party storage collaboration support exclusively to the Enterprise tier. That last change has drawn public criticism from Hedge, whose Mimiq tool is affected. Public launch is at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, September 11-14.
