Canon 135mm f/2 vs. Laowa 200mm f/2: Background Separation Shootout

auto_awesomePixelfetch Take
Portrait shooters chasing that 'barely real' background obliteration already know 135mm f/2 delivers. What this comparison actually tests is whether the extra 65mm of focal length on the Laowa 200mm f/2 justifies the trade-offs, namely manual focus only and a lens the size of a small child. If you're shooting controlled portrait sessions where autofocus speed isn't a dealbreaker, the compression difference at 200mm is genuinely significant. Worth a look if you're building a portrait kit and haven't considered the Laowa's focal length as a separator from the crowd.
