Dye transfer printing is one of those processes most photographers know by reputation and almost none have used. The results are extraordinary, the process is brutal, and finding someone who still offers it commercially is apparently hard enough that Luminous Landscape had to start making phone calls. If you shoot fine art work destined for exhibition and you've been curious about dye transfer as an alternative to inkjet, this is worth reading before the last practitioners disappear entirely.
