Godox ML40Bi and ML40R: Pocket LED Lights With Built-In Battery
Compact continuous lights live or die by one question: can they actually do the job, or are they just impressive for their size? The ML40Bi's 26,400 lux with the included reflector puts it in genuine interview and product-shoot territory — not just 'enough light for a talking-head vlog'. The built-in battery is the real differentiator here. Godox's existing ML series needed external power, which killed the grab-and-go promise. These don't. At 422g with a 97 CRI rating, the ML40Bi slots directly into the run-and-gun kit that currently lives between a Godox SL series and a panel you'd never carry on location. The RGB ML40R is more creator-facing, but the bi-color version is the one to watch for commercial work.
