How Nolan's Team Modified a Pentax 67 as an IMAX Viewfinder

The production team on Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey modified a Pentax 67 to serve as a director's viewfinder for IMAX lenses. With the shutter removed and the mount adapted to accept IMAX glass, the body's medium format viewfinder and mirror are physically large enough to show the full 70x48.5mm IMAX negative area, with frame lines added for composition reference. Per Sunny16Labs, there are no off-the-shelf viewfinder solutions for the format, so this was a custom fix.
