Ilford Pan F Plus Arrives in 4x5 and 8x10 Sheet Film
Large format shooters have been waiting for this one. Pan F Plus at ISO 50 is already the go-to when you need maximum sharpness and grain that practically disappears, and now it's available in 4x5 and 8x10 for the first time. The reason it took this long isn't laziness on Ilford's part. Sheet film needs a thicker base to stay flat in the film holder and survive processing without curling or buckling, so manufacturing it is a genuine engineering exercise, not a cut-and-box job. If you shoot large format for contact prints, ultra-detailed landscapes, or studio still life work where you're scanning at full resolution, this is the emulsion you want. A slow, fine-grain film finally in the format that can actually show what it's capable of.
