Nikon Outlines Platform Strategy for Next Camera Generation

Nikon told Nikkei Shimbun it is building a shared engine and software platform for future cameras, modular by design, with the image processor at the centre and components like sensors, memory and wireless swapped by configuration. Canon, Sony and Fujifilm execs were also interviewed; Canon flagged compact camera growth among younger buyers.
