Nikon Service-Point Munich, a 47-year-old authorized Nikon service center and specialist retailer, is shutting down on May 31 after entering insolvency proceedings on March 18. The managing director's own statement attributes the failure to holding onto an expensive downtown location as volume dropped and margins collapsed. For Nikon shooters in Germany needing authorized repairs, the options are now down to three: Dreieich near Frankfurt, Dresden, and Nikon Deutschland in Dusseldorf.
