Peter Marlow's 'The English Cathedral' — a systematic documentary study of 42 Anglican cathedrals shot entirely in natural light — opens at Southwark Cathedral in London on July 21, running through August 31. Marlow, a twice-president of Magnum Photos who died in 2016, built the project around disciplined access: timed visits to catch daylight in naves, arches, and wooden ceilings the way they read before electricity. The venue itself, London's oldest Gothic church, dates to at least the 11th century.
