L-mount shooters have been starved of affordable ultra-wide zoom options, and Samyang just flagged April 30th as the date that changes. This matters because the L-mount ecosystem still leans heavily on expensive Sigma and Lumix glass at the wide end, and a Samyang ultra-wide zoom at their typical price point would be a genuine working option for architecture, interiors, and drone-adjacent ground work. The Schneider Kreuznach co-branding is doing real commercial work here, not just cosmetic. Worth watching the announcement before you commit to anything else at that focal length.
