Sigma CEO Outlines Lens Roadmap, Cine Primes and Filter Plans

Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki confirmed the 18mm T1.3 ISO Prime cine lens is on track to ship next year, rounding out the current prime series alongside the recently released 21mm, 100mm, and 125mm T1.3s. On the stills side, he outlined two tracks for future lenses: revising existing optical formulas as new glass materials and manufacturing tools become available, and developing new focal length and aperture combinations from scratch.
