Sony's FX5 is a full-frame compact cinema camera sitting above the FX3, priced at USD $4,899 body-only. It shoots 4K/60 from a 5K capture window, 4K/120 from a 4.5K crop, and records 16-bit linear Raw internally under Sony's X-OCN label. Three base ISO steps, combined dual gain for extended dynamic range, 32-bit float audio via the XLR handle, open gate shooting, and a waveform display are all new to this line. A 4K/240 mode is confirmed but arrives via firmware in late 2027.
