Sony FX5 IBIS Lock Service Targeting December 2026 Start

Sony has told CineD that the paid IBIS-lock service for the FX5 — which permanently fixes the sensor for use on cars, drones, and high-vibration rigs — is targeting a December 2026 announcement, with regions and pricing still unconfirmed. Sony's product team and Pro Video Manager Reiko Beitz also went on record about three other outstanding FX5 questions: 25p and 29.97p are not available in H.265, there is no continuous cache buffer for high-frame-rate capture, and the post-format-change reboots some users are seeing are a known issue.
