U.S. Copyright Office Fee Hike Takes Effect November 2026

The U.S. Copyright Office filed its final proposed fee schedule with Congress on July 14, 2026. A 120-day statutory review period is now running, and unless Congress blocks it, the new higher fees become law around mid-November 2026. Photographers who register images regularly will want to check the new schedule before the deadline.
