From September 3, 2026, camera drones imported into the US attract a 25% tariff under a new presidential proclamation. Any drone with a thermal imager jumps to 100% duty regardless of size or weight. The rates stack on top of existing border charges. DJI's US ban remains in place separately — paying the tariff doesn't change that. Airframe parts including propellers follow at 25% from February 9, 2027. Signed August 13 under the same Section 232 national security authority used for steel and aluminium tariffs.
