US Drone Tariffs Hit 25–100% From September 2026

The US government has signed off on new drone tariffs: 25% on sub-25kg models (including consumer sub-250g drones), 100% on anything heavier, and 100% on any drone carrying thermal imaging regardless of size. Takes effect September 3, 2026. Drone components — propellers, rotors, airframes — get a 25% tariff from February 9, 2027, calculated on the full aircraft value, not the component. These stack on top of existing duties. US-specific policy, but worth watching for flow-on pricing effects elsewhere.
