US Slaps Up to 100% Tariffs on Imported Drones from September

The US has announced new tariffs on imported drones and components, ranging from 25% on smaller consumer models to 100% on drones over 25kg MTOW or equipped with thermal imaging. Tariffs kick in around early September, with a 180-day window for some less-sensitive components. Country of origin matters: EU, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Switzerland and Liechtenstein face 15%; the UK faces 10%. US-domestic story, but relevant to any photographer or operator sourcing or pricing drone gear from the US market.
