L-mount has always been thin on compact, affordable primes. Viltrox is about to fix that with a 24mm f/3.8 pancake that autofocuses via VCM motor, meaning quiet and fast enough for video and event work on Lumix S or Leica SL bodies. It won't rewrite anyone's kit list, but if you've been shooting L-mount and resenting how much real estate Sigma Art or Lumix S primes take in a bag, a slim wide at Viltrox pricing could slot into jobs where you want a small footprint without dropping to a phone. The title on L-Rumors has the focal length wrong (23mm vs 24mm f/3.8 in the body copy), which suggests the spec sheet isn't fully locked. Worth watching, not worth pre-ordering blind.

Kase's new 24mm f/3.8 autofocus pancake is out now for Sony FE mount — 60 grams, 6 elements in 6 groups, VCM AF, 0.3m close focus. L-mount and other mount versions are confirmed but no release date or pricing yet, per L-Rumors.

Seven Chinese lens brands are heading to IBC in Amsterdam next week, with a mix of official announcements and display-only previews. Standouts include the Venus Optics Laowa AF 35mm f/2.8 APO 1:1 macro, NiSi's f/0.7 26mm and 50mm T1, Meike's AF 58mm f/1.2 MIX for APS-C, updated Sirui Saturn V2 anamorphics, and autofocus primes from TTartisan, 7artisans, and SG-Image.
