Laowa Aksen Ultra Macro Series: 1-5x and 5-10x Parfocal Zoom Lenses
Venus Optics has announced two new Laowa Aksen lenses: a 45mm f/2.8 and a 17.5mm f/1.7, both full-frame parfocal zoom lenses covering 1-5x and 5-10x ultra macro magnification respectively. Parfocal means the focus plane holds when you zoom, which is unusual in macro optics. Pricing and availability not yet confirmed.

Laowa Aksen Ultra Macro Lenses Launch for Fujifilm X
Venus Optics has launched two Laowa Aksen APO ultra macro lenses for Fujifilm X mount: a 17.5mm f/1.7 at 5-10x magnification and a 45mm f/2.8 at 1-5x. Both are listed now at B&H Photo; no AUD pricing confirmed at time of writing.

Laowa Aksen Ultra Macro Lenses Cover 1-10x in Two Primes
Laowa's new Aksen series pairs two ultra macro primes to cover 1x through 10x magnification. The parfocal internal zoom mechanism lets you move through the magnification range without refocusing or altering working distance, and the barrel stays put so flash diffusers and ring lights aren't fouled. The 17.5mm 5-10x version adds an optional coaxial lighting block borrowed from machine vision for shadowless illumination. Both are APO-corrected to keep chromatic aberration in check at extreme magnifications. Photo versions cover Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF/EF, L-mount, Fujifilm X and MFT; USD $749 each or a $100 saving on the bundle.

Laowa's Parfocal Ultra Macro Lenses Hit 1-5X and 5-10X on Full Frame
Laowa has released two new macro lenses for full-frame cameras: the Aksen 45mm F2.8 (1-5X magnification) and the 17.5mm F1.7 (5-10X). Both use what Laowa calls the first parfocal zoom design in a macro lens, keeping the subject in focus across the magnification range. Internal zoom holds working distance fixed at 40mm and 22mm respectively, so you don't need to reposition the camera when changing magnification. APO construction on both. Manual focus only.
