    Canon C50 + 24-105mm f/2.8: Run-and-Gun Indie Rig Tested

The Canon C50 with a fast zoom is a genuinely interesting one-body indie filmmaking answer — if you're tired of building a franken-rig around your R5, this purpose-built combo handles the ergonomics problem before you even open your bag.

Canon Drops Firmware for Five Cinema Cameras at Once

Five Canon Cinema cameras getting feature firmware at once is unusual — if you're shooting hybrid or dedicated video on any of these bodies, check the release notes before your next job, because Canon doesn't always telegraph which updates actually matter on set.

Canon R6 V vs R6 Mark III: Which Body Actually Makes Sense

Canon's mid-range lineup is genuinely confusing right now, and that confusion costs photographers real money. The R6 V sits between a stills-focused Mark III successor and a cinema-leaning C50, and if you're a hybrid shooter trying to work out which body earns its place in your bag, the spec sheet won't save you. The useful question isn't which one has more features. It's which one matches your actual deliverables. Wedding and event shooters leaning stills-primary should look hard at what the Mark III offers before assuming V means better. If your clients are asking for polished video alongside the photos, the C50 conversation changes shape entirely. Know your primary output before you spend.

Canon C50 Review: 7K Cinema in a Compact Body

The Sony FX3 has owned the compact cinema conversation for a few years now. Canon is making a direct play at that market with the C50, and this is one of the first hands-on reviews from actual paid work, not a press event. If you shoot brand videos or the occasional indie project and you're already in the RF ecosystem, the C50 at 7K in a small form factor is worth a serious look before your next kit decision.

Canon EOS C50 Review: 7K RAW Cinema Camera Tested

Canon's EOS C50 is the new entry point to the Cinema EOS line — 32MP full-frame sensor, 7K open-gate RAW at 30p, dual base ISO 800/6400, 15+ stops dynamic range, dual XLR handle included. Body plus handle runs USD $3,899 / GBP £2,999. No IBIS and a dim screen are the main knocks.

MID49 Builds Modular Rig System Around Sony FX5

MID49 is one of the first accessory makers out with a full modular rig for the Sony FX5. The key piece is a TWIST Mount EVF system that works around a confirmed Sony limitation: out of the box, the DVF-EL1 viewfinder and the XLR-H2 handle can't run at the same time. MID49's EVF extension cable fixes that, letting operators use the viewfinder alongside the handle's 96 kHz/32-bit float audio simultaneously. Also in the lineup: a rod clamp for the XLR-H2, swing-away V-Mount and Gold Mount power plates, and a quick-release baseplate with both ARCA and ARRI dovetail interfaces.
