DPReview puts the Panasonic L10 through its studio scene test. Shooting Raw at base ISO 100, it edges the LX100 II by about 1EV in noise despite using the same sensor area, and slightly outresolves other Type-1 sensor compacts owing to a 66% larger sensor. JPEG colours are noted as more punchy than previous Panasonic processing, and the Real Time LUT system allows custom colour profiles via uploadable LUT files. APS-C compacts like the Ricoh GR IV and Fujifilm X100VI still hold a noise advantage in low light.

Minna Camera, a Japanese peer-to-peer marketplace app, tracked seven months of transactions (November 2025 to June 2026) and found compact cameras filled nine of the top ten 'as-new' sales slots. Ricoh GR IV took the top spot, followed by the GR IIIx at two and the GR IV Monochrome at five. The only interchangeable-lens camera in the top ten was the Sony A7 V at number nine, with the highest per-unit transaction price at ¥323,098 (roughly AUD $3,100). DSLRs didn't appear at all. The data tracks alongside CIPA figures showing fixed-lens compact sales up 30% year-on-year.

Ricoh is releasing a 30th Anniversary Edition of the GR IV, limited to 6,000 units globally. Specs are identical to the standard GR IV — the changes are cosmetic: shutter release and rear buttons finished in the same paint colour as the 1996 GR1, a diamond-cut GN-3 ring cap, a dedicated power-off screen, and a commemorative metal hot shoe cover. The standard GR IV has been selling out regularly, so the limited production run is worth noting for anyone who wants one.

Ricoh has confirmed the GR IVx is in development, a 40mm f/2.8 equivalent companion to the existing 28mm GR IV. The new lens uses 8 elements in 6 groups with 3 aspherics, a more complex design than the GR IIIx it effectively replaces. Sensor steps up from the GR IIIx's 24MP FSI chip to the GR IV's 26MP BSI CMOS, and the body adds 5-axis stabilisation, the larger DB-120 battery, and WiFi 5. Full specs are published, suggesting development is well advanced. Launch is Winter 2026 or later; no price yet.
