DJI Osmo Mobile 8P Adds Remote Screen and Smarter Tracking
The FrameTap remote is the only genuinely new idea here. A detachable screen that mirrors your phone's live view so you can frame and trigger from a distance, without a second person, without yelling across the room. That's a real workflow fix for solo run-and-gun work. The DockKit support for native iPhone camera integration is quietly useful too. If you've been forcing clients to use the Mimo app, that friction is gone. The tracking improvements and LED fill light on the Multifunctional Module are incremental. Worth knowing about if you're already in the Osmo ecosystem, safely ignorable if you're not.

Insta360 Luna Ultra: Detachable Screen Remote Leaked
The detachable remote concept is the real story here. A pocket camera where the screen and controls physically separate from the body, giving you live 4K framing wirelessly, solves a genuine solo-shooting problem that every run-and-gun operator knows. Holding your phone up to check framing while your camera sits on a stick is a clumsy workaround. If the Luna Ultra ships with this working reliably, it matters. Leica optics and dual lenses are the expected premium pitch. The detachable controller is the differentiator worth watching. Nothing confirmed yet, June is the rumoured window.
