Leica SL3P Review: Full-Frame Speed in a 40MP Body
The Leica SL3P is a mid-tier addition to the SL3 line, sharing the same body as the SL3 and SL3S but packing a roughly 40MP full-frame sensor and confirmed faster performance than the SL3S. The Phoblographer's reviewer had Nikon and Fujifilm/Lumix shooters handle it, both clocking the speed independently.

Leica SL3-P: 44.9MP Full-Frame with 40fps and 8K Video
Leica's new SL3-P slots into the SL3 family at 44.9MP, with 40fps raw shooting, 8K open gate video, and 4K/120p. Body-only price is $6,690 USD / £5,150 GBP. Same physical chassis as the SL3 and SL3-S, minus the red dot. Two new L-mount lenses announced alongside it, headlined by a redesigned Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH that's dramatically smaller and lighter than the current version — 584g, 75.5mm long, with a 67mm filter thread instead of 82mm.

Leica SL3-P Review: 44.9MP, 40fps, $6,690
The Leica SL3-P is a 44.9MP full-frame mirrorless at $6,690 body-only, slotting between the 60MP SL3 and 24MP SL3-S. It shoots up to 40fps and records 8K 30p video. Amateur Photographer flags the best autofocus Leica has produced yet, solid build, but rolling shutter on the electronic shutter and no live view during continuous shooting. At that price it's up against the Nikon Z8 and Canon EOS R5 II, and nearly double the Panasonic Lumix S1R II, which shares the same sensor.

Leica SL3, SL3-S and SL3-P Get Firmware 4.2.0/4.2.1
Leica has released firmware 4.2.0 for the SL3 and SL3-S, and 4.2.1 for the SL3-P. The update adds new shooting modes, a revised video settings selector, improved HDMI options, optimised electronic shutter response time, better tracking framelines display, and a full-screen Review mode. The Leica Looks UI and lens lists also get refinements. Downloads and release notes are live on Leica's site now.

Leica SL3 vs SL3-S vs SL3-P: Full Spec Breakdown
