Sony FX5 Official Product and Marketing Videos Now Live
Sony's official FX5 product and marketing videos are out, with preorders now live at B&H, Amazon, Adorama, Calumet, WexUK and a handful of European retailers. The DVF-EL1 electronic viewfinder and XLR-H2 handle unit are also up for preorder as FX5 accessories.

MID49 Builds Modular Rig System Around Sony FX5
MID49 is one of the first accessory makers out with a full modular rig for the Sony FX5. The key piece is a TWIST Mount EVF system that works around a confirmed Sony limitation: out of the box, the DVF-EL1 viewfinder and the XLR-H2 handle can't run at the same time. MID49's EVF extension cable fixes that, letting operators use the viewfinder alongside the handle's 96 kHz/32-bit float audio simultaneously. Also in the lineup: a rod clamp for the XLR-H2, swing-away V-Mount and Gold Mount power plates, and a quick-release baseplate with both ARCA and ARRI dovetail interfaces.

Sony FX5 Japan Release Pushed to Late October or Later
Sony has narrowed the FX5 delay window in Japan from 'undetermined' to 'late October or later', per an updated notice on the Sony Marketing Japan site dated September 18. The DVF-EL1 viewfinder, XLR-H2 handle, and VMC-BNCU1 timecode cable are tied to the same window. No firm date yet.
