GoPro finds a buyer, and it's not a camera company

GoPro has signed a $285 million deal to sell to Starman Optical, a photonics company aiming the brand's patents at data centers and defense rather than action cameras. Panasonic has shown a global shutter PTZ camera it's calling a category first, while NiSi has a 26mm f/0.7 prototype in the works that would sit alongside some of the fastest full-frame lenses ever built. In Sydney, Cybele Malinowski's celebrity-impersonator portrait series DEEPFAKE closes at Carriageworks this weekend.
