Descendants of Summer: Nicola Muirhead on Bermuda's Colonial Legacy

Nicola Muirhead's project Descendants of Summer uses portraiture and landscape to document Bermuda's post-emancipation communities, tracing lineages through colonial records and the island's Friendly Societies network, which dates to 1832. The title references Bermuda's original colonial name, the Summer Isles, and the project spans personal memoir, archival research and collaborative storytelling with historian Dr Michael Bradshaw and writer Liana Nanang Omodele.
