Ana Mendieta Retrospective Opens at Tate Modern

Tate Modern has opened a major Ana Mendieta retrospective — the first comprehensive UK showing in more than a decade. The exhibition covers her Silueta Series alongside newly restored films, early paintings, and rarely shown sculptures. Mendieta worked in the 1970s creating short-lived land-based performances, and film and photography were the only records left once wind, rain, or tides reclaimed the work.
