Ricardo Alcaraz has been building a photographic archive of Puerto Rican life and resistance since the 1970s. Cazador de Milagros at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico in San Juan surveys more than fifty years of that work, including his 1979 image of nationalist figures Lolita Lebrón and Rafael Cancel Miranda returning from federal prison. Curator Christopher Gregory-Rivera has kept flood-damaged vintage prints in the show as found, placing the fragility of collective visual memory inside the work itself.
