Apple detailed its 9th Raw processor at WWDC26, integrating denoising directly into the demosaicing step rather than treating it as a separate pass. The company says this produces sharper images across the board and a meaningful jump in quality on high-noise files. It supports Raw from hundreds of cameras across all major manufacturers, and any third-party app built on Core Image gets the update without extra work.
