Canon RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ: How the Manual Zoom Mode Actually Works
1d agovia DP Review News

auto_awesomePixelfetch Take
Canon's RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ has a physical switch to toggle between power zoom and a manual-style ring, but the ring still controls the motors rather than moving elements directly. There's a small but noticeable delay when zooming across the full range, and the ring is light enough to turn accidentally. The lens does hold its focal length position when the body is switched off, provided the ring hasn't been moved while powered down.
