Most kit lenses exist to ship cameras. This one has an actual point of view. Starting at 13mm on APS-C gets you 20mm equivalent, which is a real working focal length for tight interiors, architecture, and self-shooting video without an ultrawide adapter. If you're picking up a new X-mount body and shooting anything with confined spaces or on a stick, this is worth knowing about before you default to the 15-45mm out of habit.
