Apple has confirmed the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with the main 48MP wide camera gaining a variable aperture system: f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4, with six aperture blades. Manual controls for stills and video are new, as is an 'Apple Reference Image' provenance feature that stores the original unedited file to verify it was shot on an 18 Pro. The telephoto is a 48MP f/2.8 at 100mm equivalent. Pricing starts at USD $1199 for the 18 Pro (256GB), with deliveries from September 18. Apple also officially announced the iPhone Duo, its first folding handset.
