If you're buying into Nikon Z full-frame on a budget, this 24-105mm will likely land in a kit box soon — meaning you'll get it for almost nothing extra over body price. That changes the calculus entirely: the soft-at-wide-open corners and missing hood sting a lot less when you're not paying $549 standalone. It's not a lens you'd buy for serious work, but as a walk-around travel zoom it earns its place in the bag.
