Roberta Bayley's Best Photo: Joey Ramone at the Beach

Roberta Bayley, the photographer who shot some of the defining images of the New York punk scene at CBGBs in the 1970s, talks through her favourite photograph: Joey Ramone on a beach, grinning, in a rare unguarded moment. Joey hated it. Said it made his legs look thin. Bayley's story runs from photographing photographs of the Beatles with a family Kodak, through dropping out of college and selling her Nikon, to landing in New York via Richard Hell and ending up the house photographer for a scene that changed music.
