Sony Alpha Rumors is reporting a Sony FE 100-400mm F/5.6-8 announcement on August 4, 2026, with a rumoured price of €899. That would put it well under the G Master 100-400mm (around AU$4,300 street) and in the same budget telephoto category as Canon's RF 100-400mm F/5.6-8. Unconfirmed, but SAR is calling it a confirmed announcement date.
