The original Viltrox 35mm f/1.2 was already punching well above its price bracket. The STF N revision doesn't touch the optics — it fixes the controls. A real aperture ring replaces the old control ring, and the gimmicky LED display is gone. For Sony E-mount shooters who run hybrid workflows or just want a lens that behaves like a lens, that's a legitimate improvement. At $999 USD it's still deep in 'why am I paying Sigma prices for this' territory, but Viltrox earns it here. If you were already eyeing the original, the STF N is the version to actually buy.
