Viltrox's apochromatic design is a genuine step up for a brand already punching above its price point, but if you're shooting Z-mount and AF reliability is non-negotiable, native glass still wins on keeper rate. The 55mm F1.8 Evo is the lens you recommend to a photographer building out their kit on a budget, not the one you grab for a high-stakes job where you can't reshoot.
