Mac Mini Gets M6, Mac Studio Gets M5 Ultra
Apple has refreshed both the Mac Mini and Mac Studio. The Mini now runs the new M6 chip, with an M5 Pro option available. The Studio steps up to M5 Max or M5 Ultra, the latter packing a 36-core CPU, 80-core GPU, and up to 512GB unified memory. Apple has also quietly killed the Mac Pro, leaving the Studio as the only pro desktop in the line-up.

Mac Studio Gets Quad-Die M5 Ultra; Mac mini Debuts 2nm M6
Apple has updated both the Mac Studio and Mac mini. The Mac Studio ships with either the M5 Max (18-core CPU, up to 40-core GPU, up to 128GB unified memory) or the new M5 Ultra, a quad-die chip — two M5 Max dies joined via an updated UltraFusion interconnect — with up to an 80-core GPU, 512GB unified memory, and 1.2TB/s bandwidth. The Mac mini gets the M6, Apple's first 2nm chip, or an M5 Pro option. Both machines add Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and genlock over USB-C; the Mac Studio also moves to PCIe Gen 6 SSD.
