Sony Announces Rialto 65 Large-Format Sensor Module for Venice 2
Sony has announced the Rialto 65, a large-format sensor block for the Venice 2 cinema camera. The sensor measures 53.75 x 35.83mm in a 3:2 aspect ratio, putting it in the same ballpark as the Arri Alexa 65 (54.12 x 25.58mm) and the Phase One IQ4's 53.4 x 40mm chip. No pixel count or sensor architecture details confirmed. On show at Cine Gear Expo in LA this week; availability expected first half of 2027.

Sony Announces 65mm Medium Format Sensor for Venice 2 Cinema System
Sony has announced the RIALTO 65, a new medium format sensor module for the modular Venice 2 cinema camera. The sensor is 53.7x35.83mm in a 3:2 aspect ratio, physically larger than the medium format sensors in the Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X2D lines. This is a development announcement for the Venice 2 cine system, not a stills camera.
