Nikon has started producing at least some Z-mount lenses in Vietnam rather than China. The NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8 is the confirmed example, with recent production units marked 'Made in Vietnam' on the barrel and retail box. Per Nikon Rumors (citing serial number researcher Roland of Photosynthesis), Nikon's official site previously listed only the NIKKOR Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 as Vietnam-manufactured. The shift comes against a backdrop of US tariffs that place China-origin lenses at roughly 35% effective import duty versus around 10% for Vietnam-origin equivalents.
